We will be doing the Ken Garff Road to Success again this year at Oakdale. At the beginning of September I sent home a red tracking sheet where the students could either write in the number of minutes and color in the apple (for Sept.) when they read at least twenty minutes each day. This needs to come back at the end of each month. I will be using that to help hand out the reading tickets for the Road to Success Program. We are again giving one ticket when they read for five straight days and two tickets when they read all seven days in the week. These should be minutes that they are reading to themselves. It also includes any minutes that they spend reading to you or other family members. Ideally they should spend some time reading to someone else and should also have someone reading to them each week for practice and for examples of what good readers do.
